Join Jennifer Garner & Frigidaire in Supporting Save the Children with Spin & Win

This is a special guest post from Sarah Townsend of SocialVibe.com, about Frigidaire’s new Spin & Win Campaign. SocialVibe is an amazing social networking site that helps people support charity by allowing them to choose a sponsor and complete branded activities that benefit their charity. In just over a year’s time, SocialVibe’s members have raised over $700,000 (and growing!) for over 40 different non-profits and causes.  Sarah is the Editorial Director for their blog and will cross post this story there.

Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner have teamed up to give you the chance to win hundreds of dollars worth of great prizes by playing Spin & Win on SocialVibe.  Each time you take a spin, you’ll be entering for a chance to win a brand new time-saving Frigidaire Affinity washer and dryer and other great prizes like a $100 gift card to go camping or a $75 gift card to curl up with new books.  Who couldn’t use that?!

Frigidaire will also be donating $1 to Save the Children for every day you take a spin.  Each day is another new opportunity to enter and win these great prizes.  It could be just the thing to brighten up this cold season.

Go ahead, take a spin.  You never know what could be waiting for you.

Thanks Sarah. We definitely look forward to hearing many more stories of cause-tastic activities coming from SocialVibe and can’t wait to hear what everyone wins.  Everyone else, go Spin & Win already.  Not a SocialVibe member? No problem. Head over to www.maketimeforchange.com where anyone can play.  Win prizes, share with your friends, and HAVE FUN!

Hunger for Facts, not Myths…

CansMarketOur little online food drive here at WhatGives!? hopes to encourage folks to do more than just send a few cans of creamed corn to your kid’s school.  We’d like to mix in a little awareness and understanding with that six-pack of mini fruit cocktails.

Rehydrate.com is a great site for straightforward info about malnutrition around the world.  Their terrific list of Hunger Myths will clear up some confusion, including the ideas that throwing more money or larger farms at the issue will solve it.  And the concept that there’s nothing we can do because climate change is the boogeyman is also disputed.  Take a minute and discover that we CAN end hunger in the world.  Really.

Meanwhile, you can help with the hunger in your backyard – and have a pretty fun time with your pals on Facebook at the same time.

SocialVibe.com has decided we all need another addicting game to distract us from our actual work.  Thank goodness!! It’s a few clicks and few boxes to fill in, but every click and box adds up to food for people who don’t have enough.  I brought stuffing (my fave) to my Hawaiian feast.  What will you bring??

And if you’re still kinda struggling with what you can do to teach your children about sharing with others, it’s not too late to organize your own food drive.  Nickelodeon’s Parents Connect site has a straightforward how-to that will get your kids organized and fired up to fight hunger.  Your local food bank needs you.  Time’s a wastin’, people!!
