The Emmys, BlackBerry, Famous People, and You!

Every year, the night before the Emmys, there’s this party.  Actually, it’s THE party.   It’s the Evening Before hosted by Jeffrey Katzenberg (that’s Mr. DreamWorks Animation to you) and a Celebrity Host Committee that includes (alphabetically, ‘cause, you know…) Christina Applegate, Alec Baldwin, Ty Burrell, Courtney Cox & David Arquette, Mariska Hargitay, Neil Patrick Harris, John Krasinski, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Amy Poehler, Ellen Pompeo, Ryan Seacrest and Tom Hanks.  What, that’s not enough?  Okay, count on nominees past and present and just a bunch of famous people in general.   All in one fabulous party in Los Angeles sponsored by Target, People Magazine, and Revlon.

Oh, right, and you can go.

You and a guest will be welcomed into one of the most elite Hollywood gatherings of the year.  All you have to do is be the highest bidder on this item in our sister company Kompolt’s latest auction extravaganza, which benefits the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

I am happy to admit that I am a big supporter of the Fund and the amazing safety net of social services they provide to the entertainment industry.  Health care, financial aid, in-home support, a retirement community, and on and on.  As they say, they’ve been “taking care of our own” for 90 years.  It’s a great cause – and deserving of this great, great auction.

Because, wait, there’s MORE!

For instance, just for all you BlackBerry addicts (you know who you are) here’s a chance to add to your stash and feel all warm and fuzzy about it.  Julie Benz (Rita on “Dexter”) and Adam Anders (exec music producer, “Glee”) have spent a day documenting their lives with texts, photos, and videos on their BlackBerrys.  Place the winning bid and you’ll get that autographed BlackBerry filled with up-close-and-personal goodness!   Julie promises a great day: “I will be shooting a day in my life… my morning coffee, working out and going to work. You will get to see my trailer, my dogs, what I eat, crew members, etc.  It will be a real ‘behind the scenes’ of my life!?”

If pix of Julie aren’t enough, you can also bid on a trapeze lesson with her.  Why would I make that up?  Check it out.

There’s also a walk-on role in Brett Ratner’s next feature film, a tour of DreamWorks, a VIP experience at a Sheryl Crow concert, a day on the set of “Criminal Minds”, as well as all kinds of autographed items you really need to frame and hang in a prominent place.

Go, bid, win!!!! The thousands of people who are helped every year by the Motion Picture & Television Fund will thank you.
