Betty White: Golden Girl Turned Calendar Girl

After being in the spotlight for more than six decades, you’d think Betty White would take a break from showbiz and enjoy her twilight years relaxing and reminiscing about the golden days.  However at age 88, White is doing anything but sitting back and watching the world go by.  With an Emmy nomination under her belt for her recent “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig and a starring role in the new TV Land series “Hot in Cleveland,” the ageless iconic actress is proving that men aren’t the only species that get better with age.

Of course, it’s no secret that we (the Whatgives!? team) hold positive bias toward celebrities who leverage their notoriety for social good.  To help raise money for the Morris Animal Foundation, which has funded more than 1,600 humane animal health studies, White created her own calendar filled with a variation of photographs featuring her with animals and few buff tan male models.  The 2011 Betty White Calendar will be available in September for $12.99.

Recently honored by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for her work with the Los Angeles Zoo, White has been a dedicated animal rights activist for decades, and she has supported the Morris Animal Foundation for more than 40 years.

Betty also has her own line of HoodieBuddies, a cool new hoodie with earbuds built into the strings. A portion of the proceeds go to the Morris Animal Foundation too!
