Sorcerer’s Apprentice Benefit for Creative Visions Foundation from What Gives on Vimeo.
The director and cast of the new fantasy adventure “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” hit the red carpet at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, Monday evening for a special screening of the film to benefit the Creative Visions Foundation, an incubator for creative activists who use media and the arts to galvanize positive change in the world.
Creative Visions founder Kathy Eldon launched the organization after her son Dan Eldon, a 22-year-old Reuters photojournalist, was killed in Somalia while on assignment in 1993. Kathy and the Creative Visions community are keeping the spirit and mission of Dan alive through supporting socially conscious media makers, and funding projects such as the construction of a Kenyan high school, which is receiving all the money raised by the screening benefit.
“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” director (and Kathy Eldon’s son-in-law) Jon Turteltaub said he wanted the premiere of his movie “to have meaning.” I’d say this event definitely fit the bill.

Kathy Eldon is one of the most inspiring women I know. Kathy and Amy Eldon Turteltaub (her daughter) celebrate the life of Dan Eldon with CREATIVE VISIONS FOUNDATION. Together they are touching the lives of children around the world. Thanks to Jon Turtletaub for bringing awareness to their important work with this premiere benefit screening for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
