Tonight! Gulf Coast Benefit for Fisherman and Wildlife

Hey, kids, it’s July 1st and we’re heading into the big All-American weekend that salutes our forefathers with burgers, fireworks, and Monday off.  Whoo-hoo!  Today you can kick off that love-of-country feeling by joining with your friends and neighbors to support your fellow Americans along the Gulf Coast who aren’t having such a great time these days.

Tonight, all across the country, a series of concerts will be held benefiting the fishermen and wildlife affected by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill.  All ticket sales will be directed to the Gulf Restoration Network.

Check out this list of venues to find a location near you, or you can donate directly, or participate in the online auction.  Mashable has a great article on the event and the links to put your own Gulf Coast ribbon on your Twitter and Facebook profiles.

Our Jim Turner will be at the event in Boulder, Colorado; Melissa Rowley will be checking in with one of the six – count ‘em, six – venues in the LA area; yours truly will be chasing the fun in New York.  We’ll let you know how it all turns out.  For sure, it will be a big win for the people, wildlife and wetlands affected by the spill.  Get out there and show your support – and have a great time!
