Ecofabulous, eBay Green, and Electrolux Auction “EcoFabHouse” for Global Green USA

The party is on at Dwell on Design 2010 – an event that celebrates the “Best and Brightest Projects, Products, and People” and is the largest of its kind on the West Coast.

I’m here because of Global Green USA.  Our friends at our sister company Kompolt sent me to help get people bidding high on this fabulous Eco-House (hence the EcoFabHouse), which is currently on display here at Dwell on Design.  Bids for the fully functional and beautifully decorated house start at $65,000, and the auction ends this Sunday at 4pm PST.

The house was curated by Zem Joaquin, ecofabulous founder and lead designer, who brought together 20 experts in their fields to make this house truly one-of-a-kind.  The house is currently up for bids on eBay Giving Works, with proceeds benefiting Global Green USA.

The WhatGives!? team got to talk to several people involved with the Eco-House – including the CEO and President of Global Green USA, Matt Peterson.   Peterson hopes the auction brings in some of the much-needed funds for their programs – especially urgent as they are responding to the nation’s largest environmental disasters, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We’ll have a fun video wrap-up in a few days, so make sure to come back for that.

As you can see, the house is beyond amazing, and the cause is definitely worthy of your support. If you’re interested in being on the edge of all things environmentally conscious, then you must check this out. Be sure to spread the good word!
