Good and Ready, episode 1!
I am. I am ready, and so are actor/activist Adrian Grenier, film producer Peter Glatzer, Epic Fu’s Zadi Diaz, Invisible People TV’s, Mark Horvath, Ford’s, Scott Monty, and SocialVibe’s David Levy, who are all featured in the first episode of my new web series “Good and Ready,” where cause, brands, and celebrity intersect in the name of social good. We’re launching TODAY, Wednesday May 19 at 12PM PST.
As I wrote in my first Whatgives!? post, do-gooders are everywhere. We’re entering an exciting time in the social action space. More companies are moving toward social innovation, rather than mere risk mitigation in their corporate social responsibility efforts, and more influencers in the entertainment industry are using their names to draw attention to cause and action. And as an advocate and cause correspondent, it’s my pleasure to cover this corporate and cultural shift. The best thing about my job—it never feels like a job. Of course, having the undying encouragement, support, and insight of the Whatgives!? editorial team helps a great deal
Each “Good and Ready” episode will feature a local, national, or international non-profit, a brand in cause marketing, and a celebrity-backed cause. We’ll be shooting in the field, as well as in the studio, and we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty. We’re gladly accepting pitches on events, entrepreneurs, artists, companies (large and small), and any passionate individuals who are putting their skills and talents where their mouths are and affecting change. We want to spotlight the stories and issues that YOU find important and that will best serve YOU. So don’t be shy. Hit us with your best shots. We’re “Good and Ready” for you, and we’re all in this together.
