Gabrielle Reece Gets Her Garden On

Volleyball sensation Gabrielle Reece and renowned surfer Laird Hamilton are giving back to their community through the colors of a garden – a Teaching Garden to be exact.  On April 27, the couple teamed up with Hollywood philanthropist Kelly Chapman Meyer, and members of AARP to launch the country’s second Teaching Garden, a destination where children, parents, and teachers come together to learn about nutrition and health, at Santa Monica’s Will Rogers Learning Community School.

Christina Clem, Associate State Director of Communications for AARP, said the opportunity to work with the Teaching Garden   and “teach the kids how a few small diet and exercise changes can make life-saving differences is priceless.”

Reece and Hamilton agree.  We caught up with the famous couple before they began planting.  As parents, the statuesque pair have made garden education a top priority for their family.
