For the first 24 hours of BlogWorld ’09, we wielded our mighty hashtags with an unstoppable determination to #beatcancer. The website www.beatcancereverywhere.com tallied over 200,000 mentions of that hashtag in Tweets, blogs, or Facebook mentions. A lot of money will go to cancer charities and we’ll all get in the Guinness Book of World Records just for spreading the word.
It’s an amazing campaign created by Everywhere and sponsored by eBay/PayPal and MillerCoors Brewing Company. Don Lemon, CNN anchor, was one of the forces behind the launch of #beatcancer, and we had the chance to hear more about it when he dropped by the WhatGives!? booth at BlogWorld.
